Dr. Lisa Zhou
Dr. Lisa Zhou earned her doctoral degree in Biology in China before
immigrating to Canada, where she was teaching and doing scientific research
in Sichuan University. After landing in Canada, she did one year of
scientific research in UBC and later switched to learning body-care,
receiving a spa diploma at New Image College in Vancouver.
After 2 years of experience as a bodyworker in the Tri-Cities, she wanted to apply her background in Biology to the healthcare field to further benefit her patients. This prompted her to attend Trios College in Toronto to begin her RMT journey. Before transferring her Ontario RMT license to BC, she had 2 years of massage experience in Toronto Chinatown where she gained some Chinese traditional massage techniques (Tuina) and was a member of the International Association of Thai massage.
Dr. Zhou is always motivated to continue her education of new techniques, Chinese traditional medicine theory and science. She prides herself in using logic thinking to apply her education towards better understanding her patient’s situation and designing a specific treatment plan for each patient.
“I am sensitive to finding the client’s precise treatment areas and take satisfaction in seeing a decrease of their pain or discomfort and improvement of their overall wellness, as well as helping the body to return to balance therefore reducing the risk of disease.”
